Slayer #5 on Billboard !!!

Reminds me of when Pantera was #1 back in '93 or whenever. EVERYONE "listened" to Pantera (in spite of the fact that they were barely tolerable by anyone but rednecks) and if you listened to metal or anything remotely heavy, people would ask, "have you heard Pantera yet?"
I remember my junior year when I was saying something about Dream Theater and this hood was like, "duuuuude, you gotta listen to Pantera." I said, "who?" I literally didn't know who they were.

Admittedly, I listened to Pantera starting in 96 or so when they were starting to lose steam and I still own "The Great Southern Trendkill". It makes an appearance once a year or so. Darrell Abbot (I refuse to call an adult "Dimebag Darrell") was an awesome guitarist.

Lurch you have fellated this album ad nauseum. Basically to the point that I no longer have a desire to purchase it. The fact that it is number 5 on Billboard, furthers my disinterest. :ill:

after 20 or so years ... and with everyone saying metal is dead.

Metal is in again and has been for a bit, haven't you heard?

Even if it wasn't, charts wouldn't be needed for it to be alive.

Anyway, I listened to the first few songs off the album at the record store here a couple days ago... much much much much much much better than the last couple-few, anyway.

And then I bought South of Heaven.

Any band that gets overly praised, makes me sick! (With a few notable exceptions)

I know people who still listen to the same bullshit music they listened to 10 yrs ago. Praising said bands, as if they were the only groups ever to put together a couple quality notes. Stagnation of the human soul, is a terrible, terrible thing.
