I have given the CD about a dozen listens. I like it. it will take some time before I can put it in it' rightful place in my own Slayer catalog.

My only critique is that after 20 years I know Slayer hates God/Christ. I get it. In the present world where nobody believes in anything anyway it seems kinda dated. For myself it just gets a bit overdone sometimes.

Maybe I am getting a bit older now and a bit more mellow but I rather enjoy Slayer songs that are more about the insane, necrophilia, serial killers and social injustices.

The music is still Killer and the vocals superior but hey who am I to tell Araya, King and Hanneman what to write about ?

I am just some Momo from L.I

I like the new Slayer album a lot. I got it already in July and it hasn't left my CD-player since, I play it a couple of times a day. Great album IMO. A lot of fast parts, great riffs, good songs.

:headbang:

I bought it. I didnt like the fact that they compared it to Seasons, cause I was hoping to hear them tune back up to e flat, but it is still good.

I still have yet to hear it...
just so you know, Tom Araya is a born again christian so he doesn't hate God/Jesus. I even read somewhere that he has problems singing Kerry King's lyrics deep inside, but fuck, it's Slayer and he knows it.

Not so bad. I also recall Tom saying his fondest memories were in church with his parents, as a kid.

Musically the records not too bad, but KK needs to change the fucking subject, he's like a dog with a bone. An ugly, stupid dog.

I just picked it up and have gone through it once. I like it. As with GHUA, I will probably have to listen a couple of times before I am totally digging it.
And...I had my 16 month old in the truck so, I could not blast it. I am going to let her ruin her hearing on her own.

You saying that got me thinking. A lot of people bash the lyrics on GHUA (and in some cases that's understandable, I.E. "Payback") but I was reading the lyrics to "Disciple" and aside from a few iffy lines, that song really does make a lot of sence, considering the state of the world today.

But I should also say I'm weird with that song cause I cant help not to scream along with Tom when it goes "RIP YOUR FUCKING EYES, OUT TEAR YOUR FUCKING FLESH OFF!!!" and "PAYBACKS A BITCH MUTHAFUCKA!!!" But again, I just think some of it is iffy, but like Momo said, who am I to tell SLAYER what to write about.
