SEEN SLAYER IN ANAHIEM THE SHOW CRUSHED...

What do you mean "the show Crushed"?
you mean it sucked? people made for Slayer hard time or something?

I didnt see them in Anaheim, but I did see them the 1st night Dave was back on Jan 24th in New Haven and again a couple nights later in Providence and I have to say that after seeing these guys live for the past 17 years if they dont change that stagnant setlist soon, I wont be bothering to go anymore.
Theres absolutely no surprises when you go see Slayer.
Their new album is pretty damn good too but they dont change anything up...EVER.
I will say this for them, they ALWAYS sound fantastic live.
I guess when you play the same EXACT songs year after year that will happen.
However I want to hear some old songs they havent played in YEARS. Even some different songs off of Diablous would be great.
I wasnt thrilled with that album but there ARE 5 kick ass songs on it - Bitter Peace, Perversions of Pain, Scrum, Screaming From the Sky and Point. (IMO) All they play is the nu-metal sounding Stain of Mind....pthhhh!
Just play something DIFFERENT guys....anything at all!
The South tour was almost 14 years ago and yet we get the same 2 songs every time around. What gives? Maybe they dont think anyone cares? I cant figure it out. What I would give to hear something like Show No Mercy, Haunting The Chapel, Praise of Death, Epidemic or Reborn live again!
Anyone else agree or are you satisfied with the same old?
By the way, does anyone else think Divine Intervention was an awesome yet WAY underrated record?

I saw slayer when they came around last time with Pantera. Chuck, I do honestly think you are a shitload better then Slayer though. Those goofy lyrics of theirs really subtract from the band. Along with the noise solos and stereotypical drum beats. They are good, but they don't hold a candle to Testament.

Last time I saw Slayer was around 1988, it was good. But not as good as the '86-87 Reign in Blood tour - great setlist, small club.
I hate large arena shows.

I've never seen them play live but I can tell you my opinion on their music. I think there newest CD is the best material I've heard come out of that band. It's heavy and it has a beat! I get sick of blast beat after bast beat after a while.

I can't even stand to listen to anything post Seasons anymore...it's just bad....And the last two were embarassing. I think they're over and just don't know it yet....a band like Testament can twist and change over the years and still be as massively awesome as ever, while Slayer just sounds like Diet Slayer nowadays.....they might as well call themselves Chemical Warfare, because they sound like a cover band just going through the motions....

hell yea i was there, and what a show it was! slayer put on a great show as always. thanks to tom arayas niece, i actually got to go to the VIP room and backstage! i got to meet everyone except lombardo, it was a good time. i had heard you were there chuck, but i didnt see you, i was more excited when i heard you were there than i was to meet slayer. i guess you left soon after the show ended. :erk: maybe ill get to meet ya next time. i wrote a complete review here:
