seriously.. i've tried it with my vocalist, and it just pops like ferkkkkk.
also, what is your vocal chain and your master chain? i've been passing this onto my friends aswell.. they fucking dig it man, alot!

yeah its taken me months to learn how to deal with the plosives, im not sure what i particularly did different on this ep, because i was spitting those fucking vocals out HARD, but yeah, i guess i'm just subliminally going easier on the p's and such now.
and as for how i hold it i sorta hold it like i was gonna cup it, but i dont cup it, i just cover the gap between the very top of it and the handle with one side of my hand and leave the other side free to breathe. it's weird and im not really with it so ill take a picture tomorrow.
edit: the reason i do this, for those curious (the sorta half covering the gap between the capsule and the handle thing) is because it makes the mic sound far less scooped, gives it a sorta, rounder, thicker midrange. with heavy compression and a cut at 300hz, it sounds pretty decent. it's weird, but hey, i gotta work with what i got.

My only gripe about that mix is perhaps that the lyrics are a bit hard to understand, even if the vocals are really well mixed.
But hey, Gareth's gotta work with what he has, and it still sounds wonderful.

ditto x 1000. tried this once... sounded like beat boxing. if budgets the issue, why not just a 58 instead??
gareth, if you learned to do vox into the 57 without plosives purely through vocal style, that's intense. srsly. in fact... how do vox in general?? shits epic, i wish so bad i could do that.
as usual from me, hints on the 2bus chain would be priceless.
