Don't like Anthrax, love Slipknot. I've always been a fan.
Plus, Slipknot helped me to find bands they were influenced by. Not any nu-metal but Morbid Angel and the likes.

the problem with Shitknot is that they have death metal roots but choose to water it down with whiny vocals, pop hooks and "hip-hop-isms"
True on the first two albums but the third loses all those. But still is boring.
Corey is still a smart guy and funny. So i support his band stone sour's first album.
The singer for Slipknot just sounds like he's throwing a tantrum which is not what death metal is about. Death metal is about being dark not the most hateful,aggressive or angry music. I never thought of death metal musicians as being hateful and angry. Death metal musicians make it less obvious than bands like slipknot that they have a crappy job. I usually do not like blast beats in death metal which is 'extreme'. It seems people like death metal and bands because they are fast or BROOTAL and to me death metal is more than just something like that.

Both bands lost any credibility years ago and neither should be bothered with, especially considering all the great shit that's been coming out recently.
Slipknot is actually getting better. If you prefer their generic, cookie-cutter debut to something far more sophisticated, like Vol. 3, I pity you. It's not official yet either, and I doubt he will join, considering the high demand for a new Slipknot record and Stone Sour's busy touring schedule.

Hell, I enjoyed Vol. 3, but it is one of those albums that are good to listen to a few times but have low replay value. I would hardly call it sophisticated.

Bands say a lot of things and if you are not going to show influences you say than people are just going to find it funny. For a band who supposable likes death metal so much you would have no clue if hearing their records.

That is bullshit! I love Joey Belladonnas vocals. The thing that I like about Anthrax was the vocals more then the guitar, it made them sound like Iron Maiden mixed with Metallica(Well not really Metallica, but I couldn't think of a better example). This is basically like taking out Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden and replacing him with Randy Blythe of Lamb of God. It just doesn't go together.

I like black metal and am growing to like it alot more (especially bands like rotting christ, anael, dissection, etc...). I just think it is dumb to criticize slipknot for their poor musicianship. Slipknot sucks because they are worthless posers who have no idea how to write or play decent metal.
