Hey everyone,

I made another mix with real amps, 1 thunderverb 200 and 1 peavey classic 400

Bass is "tritracked" (1 classic 400 on the center and 2 thunderverb L and R for the grit)!!! Guitars are only doubletracked (2 thunderverb tracks)

Vocals are still missing for now

I'm quite satisfied with the sound this time but I would really like some input on the low end (it can get messy with 3 bass tracks :D )

Kind of hard to describe, but the guitars seem sort of "separate" sounding, like they aren't as well integrated into the mix as the could be. Also, the guitars seems a little too up front in the mix on the first riff.

What are you tuned to btw?

I'm tuned to G standard.

About the guitars it's maybe because I panned them hard left and right... I don't know... I usually prefer to pan them about 70% L and R

It's not the panning. It's more like the guitars don't quite seem to be fitting in tonally with the drums. Like I said, it's kind of hard to describe.

Thank you :) Maybe a little bit too low actually. The more I listen to it, the more I think it lacks some presence. I realize it's quite hard to make the bass and guitars fit together with such low tuning.

How do you guys mix bass and downtuned guitars? Do you have any tips in order to make it more present and less muffled?

Fuck yes dude! I'm going through a massive sludge phase at the moment, on a huge Crowbar trip, and this is just huge. I think the drums sound a little too clean though? Could do with being less Slate-y and more... just... "in a room", if you get me?
