These are two mics that I like to use frequently when I reamp because they have different but complimenting personalities. Here are the mics both, raw, blended, and in the mix. 5150 > Boogie OS > Mic > Profire 2626

Hmm really liking that pr20... as a matter of fact, I have liked it on every shoot-out I've heard so far. Should really put that one on my wishlist...

I would go with either pure pr20 or the blend.

I got a bit of a dark sound out of the SM57 this time around, nice and smooth though. Unfortunately it's my fault because that's the exact sound I was going for when I was miking up, but I still think the extra fat helps give the mix a little extra growl too. But I don't reamp quite this fat on a regular basis. Thanks for listening.

Completely agree, and you are welcome of course! The PR20 sounds most balanced by itself out of those 2 recordings, but that blend sounds wonderfully agressive.
Kind of surprised nobody else replied. Shootouts are my favourite threads on these boards.

Wow the PR20 sounds way better imo. It takes out a lot of the fizz and also removes a lot of the nasty mids that would be taken out anyways. It's almost as if it's a preEQ'd mic.

The PR is great on the high end. That blend is wicked aggressive, by the way.

I have to say though, your kick drum is very woofy.
