Does and SM58 without the windscreen have similar pickup pattern to sm57 or will it pick up more bleed. I want to use one as a snare bottom but don't want the bleed to be terrible, I just wondered if the windscreen on or off would be a better choice. Pretty minor I'm sure, but I'd like to hear your thoughts.

I've heard rumor that a 58 without a windscreen is = to a 57. Not sure how much truth there is to this.
That said, I've used a 58 for bottom snare more than once and it worked fine.

The 58 without the windscreen seems to have a very slightly smoother upper mid/top end, but I haven't noticed any other differences (rejection, or ability to handle instruments). FYI, I dont know if the diaphragm is different, or if its placebo.
