Small Haul (Not From the Mall)

That Unanimated album is really very good. The original poster is correct about the Swedish death metal sound, although I'm not sure about it being "hyper-refined".

What I love about this album is that it has a very distinct *sad* air about it, which is not to say that it's "doomy" or anything like that. It's not an overly aggressive bit of Swedish metal compared to many others from the same genre. It's somber, melodic yet still rough in spots, and even catchy (the chorus to the last song "Die Alone" will stay with you for days).

As far as I can remember, not much was said about it when it came out, and not much is said about it now. In my opinion, it's what Eucharist were trying to do with "Mirrorworlds", but couldn't...
 
Yes, Unanimated is brilliant.The only problem with the album I have found is the length of some of the songs..Eye of the Greyhoud could definately go on a bit longer, the same with Oceans of Time.I believe this would make it the perfect album, till then 9.5/10
