I started this track earlier just to give myself something to record and try to improve with. I blended my own snare sample with superior's snare and this is my first attempt at doing so. I am over all pleased with the results so far. Please note that I am only focusing on the snare right now and haven't done anything except minor eq changes to the rest of the kit. "Djent3" is before the blended snare and "snaretest" is after blending. Please let me know what I need to fix with the snare. I do realize once I get the rest of the kit dialed in I will need to probably tweak some things but what do you guys think of it as a starting point?

hard to say, try to work on your mixing skills some more before trying to blend in your own stuff. Maybe this sounds good, I don't really have an idea since your mix is kind of weird. Those guitars could use a brighter mic position.
You should look some more into compression on drums.

When it comes to compressing the kick and snare what ratio is appropriate? I have no clue how to properly compress anything and need to def work on it. I did a big "no no" and recorded both guitar tracks without changing the mic position and any eq settings on the amp just so I could save some time and get programming done without having to worry about guitar tone for the moment, I am surprised there isn't an overload of phase. I should probably just get everything tracked and work on the drum tones once guitars and bass are tracked. I just get impatient and always want to work on the drums while I'm writing riffs and I always seem to be spending too much time in between. I tend to not notice how much time I spend tweaking drums after everything is present in the mix so by asking if a snare sounds good right now is just stupid on my part!

Edit: I forgot to mention the blasting in the end is not blended but just the snare from superior.
