I just got my interview back from Midnight, Ex-Crimson Glory...
Anyway, I thought I'd share it with you guys just in case it gets the axe &
doesn't make the misc sites that I'm involved with...
here goes...
R***n,
Your interview is finished. Do you still need some graphics? Will this go to metal sludge as well? Midnight is a truly intriguing man. I love some of his answers.

--------------------------------------------
Can you catch us up on what youve done since leaving Crimson Glory? What projects and bands have you been involved with...... I've been involved ..in non-involvement........... I keep to myself usually talking to no one but myself and never quite understanding what I say..................I've performed my music only to the mountains, beaches, stars, empty walls and a couple close friends...I've been just waiting till the time and people were right.....and it all came togeather with SAKADA. .I feel the time is right and the stars are alligned for me here and now. Everything has come full circle..hence the name sakada.....
Who plays on the record? Is this a solo project or is it Midnight, the band? It all started out as a solo project but because Phil Anderson ,Scott Gibson , and I ended up collaborating on some of the songs we decided to make it a band ...some of the songs were influenced heavily by Phil's dalcimer ...we got together and began to record our jams. Miss Katie and Berber Trails were born here............. Berber was Phil'ss original title .......the dalcimer added something very wonderful to the style I was already forming in my mind so we began to experiment .....
What is Sakada? The title is catchy and memorable too. Where did you get that from? Someone said what a strange coincidence that the sakada bug( which is actually spelled...CICADA...).....had last surfaced from underground after hiding for 13 years. and the last time I was heard from was around the same time .....so I did a brief study of the phenomenon and found out the male cicada bugs make a loud noise when they come out of the ground after years below .....some find it beautiful and some think its extremely annoying.........this is perfect (thought me)..........SAKADA.....because I think the letters look better...stronger......than CICADA....it will bug some people probably .... I want .to make them think and feel ..I want to take them all on a strange rollercoaster ride through the deep and dark of my imagination colored lights and all...... .build it and they will come...I've heard
I love the eclectic sound of the record, theres stuff on there that sounds like Zeppelin, stuff thats reminiscent of Janes Addiction, and theres this psychedelic rock vibe through out the record. Did you intentionally move away from the progressive sound that you and Crimson are known for?.................yes and no................I rarely set out to make a song a specific style it just happens ...so I would say YES because I felt the need to keep an original sound and since sound and music keep evolving I find it important not to get stuck in one style like I was stuck in with the operatic style of vocals................ I felt like I was losing my original untrained voice.......I felt that since I had acheived as much with the style as I wanted I need to mix the operatic style with the emotion ...........sometimes sacrificing technical perfection for raw emotion..... I subscribe to the idea that the music is already there... like the many ghosts and spirits...and its only a chosen few who can channel them ((without going insane)) and turn their voices , pictures and vibration.. into sound .... when the magic works it will haunt the listener forever...
What is you personal favorite on Sakada and why? my favorite is miss katie because it feels more like a video than a song...(hint?)
What track was the most challenging to put together or record?.WAR ....INCUBUS--- LITTLE MAY..SAKADA...WERE ALL WRITTEN AND RECORDED WITHIN A FEW WEEK PERIOD I SUPPOSE I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THEY WERE THE MOST CHALLENGING
When can we expect you out on the road and who will be in the touring band? We have no definite plans although we are entertaining some possibilities .
Who do you keep in touch with from Crimson? I'm very private. I don't even speak to my own band for days..but all of us in C.G have spoken periodically.
I know you get asked this all the time, but do you think well see Crimson Glory rise again? Actually we are now meeting to see if we can agree with terms of a new project,,,,,,,if it happens it will be amazing...
10.) What bands out there right now do you find interesting? And why? When I listen to American radio ..I have always found it interesting that everyone rides the fad's and thinks that if they sound similar to the latest"thing"they will make money ...these are the whores of the music business as far as I'm concerned...... I don't agree with bands that become so "POPULAR" due to the repetition of hearing their name and their music....it should be about what is good and moves you not so much what your friends are into......... just because we have a jingle stuck in our head doesn't make it good music....American Idol for example dominates the TV ratings in the U.S............ this says alot.........it's all quite absurd to me ............
11.) What are some influences that people might be surprised to find out about?........ghosts
12.) In closing, Id like to throw out a number of people, places or things and you tell me what comes to mind. Lets do this.
Geoff Tate=...geoff I'm told is also a psychic
KISS= never on the first date
Death Metal=death metal like punk....to me is a great place for some very pissed off people to express themselves musically ....music comes in many flavors...my favorite is....cherry red...I CALL THE COLOR OF MY MUSIC "" HEAVY MELLOW""
Strange and Beautiful= this best describes my music and life
Crimson Glory= strange and beautifull
Road Racer Records---no comment
Morrisound=I think its a great studio with a specific sound mainly because of the brilliant influence of Jim and Tom Morris...who may or may not be related to jim...
Lonely=not since I found an angel to sleep with
Jeff Drenning= Jon and I are two sides of an opposite coin......
Astronomica= I listened to it once...I thought Wade did a great job on vocals but to me the music overall lacked some emotion....maybe mine?
Anything youd like to say to the fans on www.pivatolrage.com/ ? Yes, thanks I would like to say small children or any type of farm animals should by no means ever listen to this music ..........especially while under the influence of mind altering substances.......midnight...i.n.c..will be by no means held responsible for the repercussions thereafter.....
Thanks lets do this again soon.Thank you so much for the opportunity to speak to your audience ......................... for me the fans are the most important piece in this crazy chess game we call music...the audience is the queen the most important piece to capture without taking the king making it obvious how good you are.......
This fucking guy is off the fucking wall, but he answered everything, sort of...
