I love it. To me it improves over the original JVM in some significant ways.
- Less gain. Less squeal.
- Can still do a tight metal tone.
- Can get sludgy with the right gain structure.
- Footswitch mute-circuit has been improved. No longer a chasm of silence between channel changes.
- Midi PC and CC behaviour has been improved.
- Built in gate, with a threshold per-channel; very useful.
- Series FX loop. Parallel FX loop on the original sucked ass.
Here is a quick riff, with a slightly sloppy drum performance (sorry bout that!)
In a live environment this thing cuts through the mix so easily, and just sounds killer. Really enjoying playing it. Pisses all over the Fryette Sig X I used to own.
