Well, it's more a clash of me wanting to be polite and at the same time being uncomfortable with the ease with which random people feel they can contact me. It's not that they're creepy - I'm sure most of them are nice people once you get to know them - but rather that I'm not the type of person who can really appreciate (or maintain) the kind of interactions that are required by a site of this nature. It's just not really something I can get into, I guess.

actually, set yourself as Married and you will probably drastically reduce the creep solicitations you get. i'm set as Single because i had a stupid period a few years ago where i had to agonize over when to put myself as Single and when to put myself as In A Relationship and back again and decided it was incredibly stupid and never to change it again, but i'm thinking of going back on my word because i suspect it will forestall solicitations.
