So, I'm learning King of Terrors on bass...

like this...

Lepond is AWESOME!!!

I just wish I could hear him better in the mixes:erk:
Its like they need to turn him up alittle when they mixed it or something, Yeah u can tell I don't know anything about recording, huh? haha!

LePond kicks ass. I agree about turning up in the mixes...plus I'm not too fond of his tone on the album.

For the tapping bit, try and think of the sea of lies tapped bit, that's a general idea of it....as well as in Fallen. I think there are tabs around here somewhere, if not I might be able to tab it later on

Cheers

I love how he doubles Romeo an octave below. It's so kickass. He does it in "Fallen", too.

He does it on Sea of lies too. Those 2 parts on both songs sound almost identical. Something I noticed the first time I heard KoT. I love it.

i agree with turning up the volume too, i remember the damnation game album and the divine wings.. allbum when Thomas Miller played bass...that his volume was always up and clear...they should do the same thing.

Okay here it is.....sorry the "T's" got kind of screwed up, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out where they go.

Cheers!

Thanks for the tabs. I still can't get it that fast, though!

I play bass guitar in a local heavy metal band (they aren't very progressive), and the guitarist came up with this cool rundown. He asked me what I would play under it, and I told him I'd just double it an octave below. He looked at me real funny.

What band are you in? I'm from Chicago too, and I don't know many local bands. Do you guys play out and stuff?

I'm not really from Chicago; I'm actually about 45 minutes South of there (it's just the closest large city to me). My band's name is Lynt (yeah, it's kind of a shitty nu-metal name), and we've played a few shows so far. We started in March and we have about six songs now, and we're about to film a video/DVD at a studio performance in Lombard.

I'm really the only one in the band who digs the prog stuff, though. The drummer and one of the guitarists are into "anything heavy", and the other guitarist is more of a "classic guitar solo" kind of guy. My brother is the singer, though, and he really likes Russell's voice. I'm the newest member and the bassist (like Lepond; coincidence?), and I'm a bit older than the others (they're all around my brother's age; he got me into the band).

As a guitarist in a band I can tell you why this is. The simple fact is guitar elitism. Many guitarists think that bassists are their lackeys and are only allowed to do a pedal note in each bar. They think "it's my job to show my skillz with the melodies". I am not a guitar elitist, but i know some who are.
