So, I'm working on this Lethargica [Meshuggah] cover..

This is what I have so far.. vocals coming soon.

I REALLY love mixing this kind of music. I'm so used to technical death metal that this moved along relatively quickly.

What I like most about this is that it's 100% programmed.

Drums - SD2.0 > kick replaced 100%, snare replaced 50%
Bass - Trilian > POD Farm
Guitars - Electri6ity > POD Farm > LeCab [mesa IR]

Mastered with Ozone 5 [fucking love it, everything is much more visual so I can see what I'm actually doing]

Any opinions? Besides that the timing is flawless?

EDIT:
It is now not 100% programmed.
Woohooo! :kickass:

there's a spot were the guitars turn mono @ 0:31-32
Guess it's using the same sample or something like that on both sides
Honestly doesn't sound much different to "normal" meshugga to me lol

50hz - 160hz zone is out of control, and there's too much gain, should be a lot less IMO, the OH's seem to be clouding the highs, you should check for the drum tracks to match the song's velocities, I'd put the bass over the kick , and the guitars with less low's-low mids (speaking about spectrum), that would definately clear things up and give more punch and definition, and the notes would be a lot more noticeable at low volume... get rid of the mastering until you have an ass kicking mix! :kickass:
