So is Anathema releasing a new album or not?

My name's batmura over there too and I asked him about a month ago. I'd certainly love for SW to produce it and give Anathema the fat, layered sound of Opeth circa BWP, but due to time constraints and stuff the band's doing it themselves. Danny even said SW may not even have the time to mix it but they're going to try their best to make it work out.
Are you a fan of Anathema or SW? I'm getting the impression that it's the latter.

And IMO, AND is their best album yet.

I asked this to Danny on his board and he said SW is just mixing it. They're producing it themselves.
Thought so. Steve is such a workaholic though, he probably will end up doing something towards producing. Working on a solo album and new PT live cd and dvd, plus producing the new Orphaned Land won't be enough to fuel his workaholism. ;)

AND is ace. Second best after the highly underrated AFDTE.

Agreed though about the part on only getting better with Steve.

Holy fucking shit, I just listened to the acoustic version of 'Angelica', and I'm literally in tears! (Doesn't help that I'm already pretty emotional right now - over a girl, what else?) This is so damned great! This has been my favorite Anathema song for a long time, and hearing this version is just... wow. This is bound to be one of my favorite releases of the year - I can only imagine what the new album will be like! *sigh*

Thanks for the link, The Usurper!

I'm a fan of both, but happen to believe with someone like SW producing their albums they could get better.

And AND is one of their worst IMO.

Are you saying you wish they sounded just like Porcupine Tree? Also, if AND is one of their worst, what is a rough ranking of their albums? Seems like a steve wilson fanboy would find more to like in that album and a fine day to exit than their earlier ones.

I just finally checked out the link to the site about the acoustic album, the version of Angelica on there is alright. It sounds good and it's well done and stuff but it really just isn't much different from the original, it has better sound and far less distortion but is still essentially identical in terms of content, though the original bass part was much better. I dunno what I was expecting though. Inner Silence seems kind of lacking without the distortion, it just seems too restrained and it doesn't really change the song at all.

Are you There is the only one on there that actually significantly changes the original. I greatly prefer the original (it's one of my favorite songs by them) but this version actually stands on its own and is quite good.

HAHA! The cover art of Hindsight is total Porcupine Tree/No-Man worship. LOL. I like the acoustic renditions quite a bit. How many tunes will this album contain?
If you'd even perused the website, you'd know the answer to that question. And your first sentence is about as close to a complete miss as you can come. Or do you believe SW did the album art for AND, Judgement too? =\

Kenneth now I understand how you made those 14 thousand posts -- by just typing shit to each and everyone topic you see LOL. The cover art worships PT and No-Man. Deal with this opinion.

its Travis Smith who did the artwork for PT, Opeth and Anathema, thats why there are similarities, nothing to do with worshipping

Well he's done a few Anathema cds/dvd and of course Opeth. But most of the porcupine tree covers are done by Lasse Holie
