there's also plenty of productive members of society who smoke weed throughout the course of their entire life, and there's not a damn thing wrong with it
but that's the weird thing...i still have to meet the first person that can keep it in real moderation...
I had a friend when I was 15/16 we smoked weed together, he was a promising soccer player..was inducted in the youth of ajax, and had more things going for him. he only smoked weed, when he was 18 he got kicked out of there, since they kept warning him about using weed. Now 24 (he's now 25), when I see him, he's stoned like a shrimp.. doesn't have a day-job...wanders around a bit.
I totally get drinking in moderation, but getting stoned in moderation is something that's impossible.
When you drink in moderation you feel your body changing due to the alcohol. You drink because (hopefully) you like the taste of it. But drinking to get drunk, isn't that just an addiction?
You don't smoke weed because it tastes good, now you do it for the feeling you get from it.
I'm starting to question alcohol more and more. My friend, and also bandmate, used to (allready at age of 18) have a huge drinking problem. At a certain moment he had to stop drinking because of medication. He got sane and told me he actually was drinking to much. When he got of the medication he started drinking again. Which for the first year pretty ok, but after that, and especially now, when he comes over, he always has atleast (!) a 6-pack with him..for himself.. And drinks every night...
And I really want to meet a 40 year old person who smoked weed from his teens up until now who is a productive member of society.
All I see from my old schoolmates is that the ones who got passed the getting drunk and stoned period now have solid and steady jobs, the ones that didn't still get drunk and stoned and only take a shit once a day productivity wise..
