And the expansion packs offcourse...

I keep hearing some mixed opinions, most are good though, and i have heard some cool clips with EZ as well...
But so far i have not bought it yet.. but i'm well interested so far.

How is everbody liking it?

Got some clips?

No clips, but I borrowed a friends copy for a bit. (EZdrummer and DFH expansion).

It's cool, I suppose, for quick demo tracks and scratch drums, but the sounds really didn't match up to DFHS. I couldn't get into any of the snares or kicks, and preferred the cymbals in DFHS, as well.

That said, DFHS2 is supposed to come out this year, and based on the huge suggestion thread and the response from ToonTrack on their forum... It's going to absolutely dominate.

I have EzDrummer and the DFH expansion, I think it sounds great, I've never used DFHS though, so I can't compare it... I don't have any clips at the moment either. But yeah, it sounds pretty good. :)

I bought the DFHS + C&V and EZD + the DFH EZX. I use EZD for demos and writing but DFHS+C&V for recording. I can't say that I like the DFH EZX sounds at all. I prefer the pop/rock kit in standard EZD.

From a workflow perspective, I drop midi loops (my custom ones or EZD) and fills in and out via EZD while in writing mode and usually bastardise the whole thing manually tweaking hit positions and velocities once the track is ready for tracking. Dump the midi file into another project and print the drum tracks via several instances of DFHS (I separate kick, snare, toms, hats, and cyms to different instances for flexibility).

The midi files for the DFH EZX were underwhelming (machine gun city) but the extra loops for registered users that you can download are far more intestesting. They've got the likes of Tomas Haake contributing stuff so that's quite cool. It's shame I don't like the rest of the product, but at least those extra midi loops are useful.

The thing that everyone likes but me is those shitty snares that most of the people are using with superior, I mean those thin sounding snare a la meshuggah.
So I like better EZD (with no expansion) much more powerful snares.
I never owned a copy of superior but whener someone posts something I say "fuck that's thin!, I need something fatter a la Sneap".
With EZD I got much more fatter snares!
period!

i love EZ Drummer, loading times a bitch though. I think the toms on the DFH EZx sound great but i always replace the kik and snare.

I think it sounds good. Superior is more flexible for sure but EZD doesn't doesn't require you to treat it like a real drumset....i.e. it's easier. In fairness I have absolutely no interest cutting a record w/ either program so personally EZ's drum machine type functionality is better.
I've never really liked the DKFH kick drums but that's just me.

EZD is an excellent song writing tool, and it sounds pretty damn good as well. Click my banner below and then click MP3 in the menu to hear a pre-production demo I made with EZDrummer and PODxt. Personally, I don't like the sounds from the DFH expansion, so I don't use it at all.
