so warrel will be doing an interview on this radio site in 5 min

they went through each album starting with politics and got warrels commentary on each. played some sweet nevermore music. and Got some more hype for sanctuary's new album.

This is the first I've heard of him trying to sober the entire band up. If that's the main reason for the split, (I'm sure there's more than just that) I applaud Warrel for simply deciding that he wants to be sober and in a sober band; so that he doesn't feel like wavering. Hopefully it works out.

Haha, I just realized who Warrel sounds like quite a bit in this interview. Might just be because of the phone or whatever he's using is modulating is voice a little, but with him constantly being interrupted, and then talking in a quick start/stop way, he sounds like Jeff Goldbloom.

I didn't get the Goldbloom similarity at all.

And it's been widely publicized that WD has tried in the past to get his alcohol under control. Jim as well. Jeff and Van? Who knows. All I know if regardless of how much they drank they brought it each and every show and kicked ass.

Yes, I knew that he was trying to get things under control, but I didn't know it was such a big issue with the rest of the band, and that it was also making it that much harder on him. During the live footage at least, the only person that ever really stood out most of the time as being intoxicated was Warrel. But none of the rest of them have to actually be as active with the audience either. The way the interview went though, it sounds like Jeff and Van simply didn't want to be lectured to about drinking, and were going to do what they wanted to do. Of course I'm just reading between the lines, and that might not have anything to do with what actually happened.

i think this interviewer dude has smoked himself down to about 2 brain cells

rambles, asks 'questions' that are really just fragmented comments, get it together radio man!

BUT he got some cool stories about the albums that i didnt know, also glossed over some opportunities for more follow up

As soon as he started talking about the chairs moving, And The Maiden Spoke just started playing in my head. But now I can't hear the song without just imagining a random house with a stone floor and Warrel running downstairs going "Haha, what the fuck ever!".

yea the interviewer is weird. he keeps saying he's such a huge Nevermore fan blah blah, then at the end of the interview he asks if the upcoming tour was for Nevermore or Sanctuary, like Nevermore is currently active?
