download the drumkits from hell samples. those will serve you well, as long as you spend some time adjusting dynamics so it doesn't sounds like a bad machine.

psst.. I know this shouldn't be done.. but for a good snare sound just cut that sample off from 'Born'... and fade out that reverb afterwards.

As long you ain't selling anything, I don't think it's anything illegal.

While your at it, there's an awesome kick sound to be taken from "Edgecrusher" from Fear Factory, and a snare from "Crisis"

... Would I've gotten reps if I were logged in?

But yeah, I don't think it's a big of a problem if you subtly mix it with a second, more prominent snare/bassdrum sound. I got to the point where I don't really rely in rips anymore though, but I remembered making kick-ass drum tracks with those rips

Also, totally go for DKFH cymbals, they kick arse.
