I don't think he's ever actually cleaned his plate anyway. But there's never been a night that he wasn't hungry, just that he wanted something else. Then I usually tell him he can have something else after he eats what's in front of him. After a few bites he decides he's full and forgets that he wanted something else on top of that. But I don't fight with him to eat, either. I make him eat some of everything there (meat, veg, bread, etc.) and if he's still fidgety he can get down.

And telling him his dad is going to eat his gets a few more bites in him than if we leave him alone. I figure if he's going to have that "MINE!" mentality, I'm going to get something out of it, too.

And you've got it a bit better because your rules are the only ones there are for her. I've got to deal with my husband making them popcorn while dinner's in the oven and other such crap.

I rarely have ketchup, maybe on onion rings or burger if no hot sauce or salsa is available. I like salsa on my fries. My special ketchup is Salsa Bravo made by La Victoria.

When my husband isn't putting ketchup and/or mustard on everything, he's dumping hot sauce and/or salsa on it. The whole thing just grosses me out.

I won't argue that. Although when she was a baby it would have been nice to have someone to help. You know, hold her so I could go to the bathroom (It is such a pain to get your panties up with one hand), get a drink, make something to eat. Luckily my mom found me this wonderful can opener that worked with one hand.

There are as many pluses as minuses to being the only parent. What really worries me is what happens if something happens to me. She is such a momma's girl. And I haven't really decided where I would want her to be if that happens.

Kids are hilarious aren't they? The habits they pick up and the pickiness amaze me. We don't force Ryan to finish his plate ever, but we limit his cookies and other junk if he hasn't had any decent food first. He tends to snack on a yogurt or cheezits close to bedtime sometimes which isn't a biggie if he hasn't eaten much dinner. If we get 3 good meals in him in 2 days, we're usually happy.

If food is remotely hot, he won't touch it. I mean even warm. It needs to be lukewarm or he spits it out. Cold food is ok.

Oh, I forgot. The kid does like corn?!! Not Korn. And Ham and some cheeses. I guess I have it pretty easy. He just eats these things he likes almost everyday. (I forgot hot dogs) It's getting him to try new stuff that is tough.

Yeah, I just keep his "staples" on hand to avoid too much trouble, but I'd like things a lot better if I could just make something new and have him just dig in. I don't keep any junk food in the house. The only cookies we have here are the ones I make myself, and I don't do that too often. These kids think they're living large if they get a sip of soda once or twice a week. The only "junk" around here are Gerber snacks, breakfast bars, yogurt and various crackers (Ritz, veggie, cheese, etc.). And if he's having a few days in a row where he's really not eating well, I give him extra milk. I don't think he'd eat fruit if his life depended on it.

Lately he's been fighting the milk (wants juice instead-which gets diluted anyway, shh, don't tell him) but he's actually been eating an egg almost every morning (when I feel like cooking that early).

He ignored his hot dog today, but he's also sick and did eat an egg this morning, so I guess that's okay. But he's also a big hot dog junkie (I think we've gone into serious hot dog detail before).

I did read it, and I put it in my signature when I have links in my signature. But I don't feel like going through my book marks to see which one it is, because I listed them as Zone 1, Zone 2, etc. not what the address itself is. If I were to go from my own signature, then I do have them all because you gave me the sixth link. So settle down over there.
