SOCCER NATION!

It's great to see fans jacked up like that over soccer! Why can't it be like that in America?

Did you watch the Seattle Sounders opening game? It can be, and was. The problem I've seen, is that generally you have a few home fan groups, and maybe a couple of the road team who travel to the game and help to bring other fans there. The rest of the audience is filled with the S. American crowd who is generally into it, and then the crowd of 'I don't know how to have a good time at a football game.' This latter crowd usually includes soccer moms, disinterested kids (who treat it like a baseball game), and people who just want to root for a local team but really have no genuine interest/love for the game.

Americans also generally know jack all about football. Without good TV exposure (if ESPN ends up showing Premier league games on the possibly ex-ESPN Classic [possibly changed to ESPN 3] this could happen) people will hopefully learn enough to appreciate what is going on. To appreciate good plays in the midfield, and quality scoring chances.

I sure hope that happens! There's no league in the world quite like the EPL! I also like the fact that their games are aired live on Saturday mornings here in America! I miss the Bundesliga and Serie A! La Liga is also killer!

Jeez. That's one thing that pisses me off about a lot of football teams. They rarely look inward with their blame. Always finding some excuse. I realize its a hostile environment when playing away for international soccer, and that there are a lot of factors which can cause you to not be on top of your game, but when you are supposed to be a top 3 team in the world, tieing and losing should be a rarity. You should be winning 75% of the time, tieing maybe 15%, and losing another 10%against opponents who aren't in the top 10. So while losing and tieing will occur, it shouldn't occur as much as it does.

Brazil is at a point now where they could conceivably fail to make the World Cup (though unlikely. Their defense is still very very good).

Seriously, it's fucking pathetic. Admit that you played like shit, and move on. That's how you should do.

I am still infuriated by this game.

And by the way, I don't think Brazil will ever fail to make the World Cup However, I am not too confident we can take the next WC. Individually, we have the best attack in the world (Kaka, Ronaldinho, Pato, Luis Fabiano, Adriano, Ronaldo, Robinho). When they decide to work together as a team, wonderful things happen (Brazil 6-1 Portugal which left Cristiano Ronaldo crying hahahaha, and Brazil 2-0 Italy last month). On the other hand, if they decide not to play together, the team doesn't go anywhere.

Speaking of Brazilian soccer, I wonder how our respective clubs in Brazil are faring these days?

The Brazilian league hasn't started yet. Only the local state leagues are going on. I only follow the Sao Paulo league closely.

So far Palmeiras is in first, Sao Paulo and Corinthians are close behind. I think these three are fairly confirmed in the semi-finals.

I think the finalists will end up being Palmeiras x Corinthians, the biggest derby in Brazilian soccer. Hopefully Corinthians will take the title with two goals by Ronaldo, the ONE and ONLY. :headbang::lol:

That's cool. That's the one I meant and the only one I'm really interested in, as far as Brazilian club soccer is concerned! GO PALMEIRAS!

Australians have a bit of history with the Uraguay team....we used to have to qualify by beating the 5th place South American team. They did us in 2002....we did them in 2006...Different story this time around.
A WC without Brazil would be a little odd though :)

 Corinthians makes me wanna :puke::zombie::ill: !:saint:

All rivalry aside, Corinthians and Palmeiras are doing superb jobs. They both have 2 of the best 4 strikers in Brazil.

Ronaldo (Corinthians)
Keirrison (Palmeiras) - WATCH THIS KID
Fred (Fluminense, ex Lyon)
Neymar (Santos) - WATCH THIS KID TOO

Ok I have had no internet for about a month, so let me try and fill in everything that I missed:

Very sad that ManU lost to Liverpool, even sadder they lost to Fulham

Hope they beat Porta in the champoins league

I will say I wish the best for Liverpool, but I secertly hope that the only thing have to brag about at the end of the year is beating ManU twice

It would Rock SO MUCH if Atlanta got a MLS team

I do hope the MLS continues to grow and have much success

As for as playing, I get out and play with my players some, and we have a coaches and alumini vs. players game every year

and We should definitly all meet up at PPUSAX and hang out! Hell yes!

I think that is it...OH and I like Beckham too!:headbang:

I have to shake my head at the MLS. I realize they have contracts to stick by and all that. However, pretty much all other national premier leagues (as in the top league of the nation) took a break for a couple weeks so that their top players could focus on the national league games, and so that fans don't end up seeing their team lose because its top players are off trying to qualify the nation for the World Cup. But MLS plays. A shame.

US versus Trinidad & Tobago tonight at 7:45 est on ESPN 360 and ESPN 2.
