SOCCER NATION!

In an AC Milan team with Kaka, Pato, Inzaghi, Pirlo, Maldini, Zambrotta, Ronaldinho and Shevchenko, why would anyone care to see an overrated marketing piece named Beckham?
I agree that they are already awesome without him, but WITH him feeding those other guys the ball and taking the penalty kicks, the sky's the limit for my boys from Milano! All hail the red and black!:headbang::kickass::worship:

I was thinking about this the other day. Its really lame when adults wear NFL jerseys. Somewhat even to games, but especially when they are just out doing other stuff. But its not so lame when people wear football (soccer) jerseys. Is it because at least those fit well and have some style to them (other than the big corporate logo)?

I don't own any jerseys myself. I do want one. I won't buy a $75 overprised MLS one though. I'd much rather by a West Ham United one for ~$25 (I think all of the European League jersey's are fairly reasonable). I don't want a player's name on it.

I've always collected soccer jerseys, I must have over 150. Got some nice and rare ones. Soccer jerseys are awesome and look much better than ANY other sports jerseys. You're right, they fit properly and have style, as opposed to the boring (and absurdly UGLY) football jerseys.

By the way, European jerseys aren't that cheap. The price is always around the same. Keep an eye out on Ebay though.

While I haven't seen a British soccer god in a long time, I must say that Gerrard is probably my favorite British player nowadays. That guy has talent!! :kickass:

And he's humble, seemingly. Messi seems to be as well. Actually, most of the top European players I've seen seem to be quite humble (such as Gignac).

BTW 7thSaviour. Watch this penalty kick. I loved it! (I realize the game was already over and the defense wasn't quite setup, but its a gorgeous shot).

Yeah free kick. I'm still trying to recall which penalties cause a direct or indirect kick. Been so long since I've played hehe!

Come on guys - you need some new British soccer gods - may I suggest anyone from Stockport County :) Yes, in disclosure I am a part owner (we are a fan owned team - unless we go into administration which is looking likely) but we appear to be a feeder club for the likes of the clubs above us (especially as we need money so badly) - it's kind of like discovering a band before they get big :) I'd encourage you to join the Supporters Trust and be owners too - but depending on what happens it could be a waste of your money and in the current economy $20 is $20.
This weekend is first home game for the Colorado Rapids - we have a pub crawl organized by the team tonight and a game tomorrow night - so of course we had a blizzard yesterday & today, dammit now I have to dig out the long undies :) Wish I could get a few minutes to talk to Stan Kroenke and tell him he should send some money Stockport's way instead of Arsenals - nothing against them but $1M ain't going to get him much more in the way of Arsenal ownership - but it'd be massive for County :)

Game on

Well. There are a lot of good players and teams in the other English leagues. But its always going to be hard for those teams due to budget, especially to not get relegated as soon as they get to the next level. I don't pay much attention to them. I don't know enough about any players to follow them too closely, and none of the teams necessarily have something that would draw me as a fan (probably because I know jack all about them). I'm also willing to stop being a fan if things change for a team (new ownership, new players, new attitude, etc). Being a fan owned team is awesome. I think its really cool what the Seattle Sounders are doing (with club members/season ticket holders) being able to vote out the general manager.

Good comeback by the U.S. Disappointing that they needed to come back. Defense looked fairly poor, which is ... surprising. Their defense has some of their top talent. Hopefully they win Wednesday. That will go a long way for qualifying.

I was proud of them for coming to draw versus ES. They had a couple chances to win it at the end. I hope the crowd in Nashville on Wednesday will be even half as fired up as that San Salvador crowd was! It's great to see fans jacked up like that over soccer! Why can't it be like that in America?
