Software for recording: What's the best?

What's the best program for recording music on the computer?
I am now using Sound Forge but i wonder if there is any easier way for recording music.
What are you using and what are the advantages?

I like to use Cool Edit Pro with a POD2.0. In my opinion, I really like Cool Edit and it's wicked easy to use.

Depends on how involved you are going to get...CoolEdit Pro is pretty cool, Cakewalk is preety cool as wel. For a more involved setup, Cubase SX is pretty sick...I use that in my home studio and I can do just about ANYTHING on it.
