Solefald
Norwegian avant-metallers Solefald are in the final stages of preparation for their fourth full-length album, In Harmonia Universali (previously titled The Liberation of Destiny), the follow-up to last year's acclaimed Pills Against the Ageless Ills. "Having recently received the rough mix of our new album, In Harmonia Universali, says Solefald visionary Cornelius Jakhelln, "I can only say it sounds like Solefald! Positively, it does! The dingbats who always thought of us as a crazy band, will think so still; the people who on the contrary care about the music, will discover a bosom/bum/butt-kicking, progressive Heavy Metal record. "Currently, we plan on finally mixing the album in late July, still in the Top Room [Borknagar, Khold] studio," furthers Jakhelln. "To Lazare's great dismay (we remember the recent interview where he discussed pornography and human evil, frequently cited on the WWW), there is no VCR in the studio, meaning that he will not be able to watch skinflicks while mixing.Nevertheless, I can conform that there will be another sleazy song on In Harmonia Universali, as some kind of follow-up to "Pornographer Cain": "Dionysify This Night of Spring." As we never were boys for Satan, maybe we are boys for a bit of sleaze, after all. A good band needs a vice. The slick wanker bands make me fall asleep, profoundly and instantly. Try telling me how a hairdryer or muscles or dyed hair or made-up men or Satanism really rock... zzzzz... Better stay in the old obscure lounge of good sex and music that rules..." Besides "Dionysify This Night of Spring," Solefald has finished three other titles: "The Liberation of Destiny," "Epictetus & Irreversibility" and "Mont Blanc Providence Crow." In Harmonia Universali will be, according to Solefald a continuation of Pills Against the Ageless Ills but with more "edge." As of now, Solefald's In Harmonia Universali will probably land sometime in late 2002, early 2003 on Century Media Records. Stay tuned as we bring you more from Solefald.
