Damn me for having way too much time on my hands! Curses! Anyway I have an insatiable desire to unearth new music and I have found these bands. They are in the classic heavy metal vein.

First band is Waxwing. They only ever released an ep called Appetizer a long time ago. The song on youtube kicks ass. Sounds like a long lost Queensryche come Crimson Glory track but less polished more heavy.

Seventh Son - Spirit World. A classic sounding UK NWOBHM band from miserable bastard country AKA Yorkshire. How did I miss this band? The song is awesome classic melodic heavy metal. I need to hear more of this cause it sounds wicked. Album was only released in 2009.

Invicta - We Live For Heavy Metal. Released in 92 but the sound is super rough and sounds like a demo at best. The music sounds a bit like Omen to me with galloping true metal riffs. If it had good sound it would be cool but still nice for true metal cheese supporters.

Iron Kobra - Battlesword EP. Released in 2009 this German band plays classic metal with raw thrashy tendencies. The band makes me laugh with their bloodhirsty vicious raw metal.

Phantom - st. And maybe I saved the best till last. I don't know this band at all but the songs on YT completely blew me away especially the production for that time. If you already knew about this band then you've been very lucky! The singer is the star of the show here and he goes by the name of "Falcon" Eddie Green! I'm guessing they are referring to his voice soaring like a falcon which is very apt indeed once you hear him. That opening scream and his amazingly powerful vocals in general are amazing. The album came out in 1991 so it's more than 20 years old but if it was released today no one would say it was dated sounding. Check this one you won't regret it!

Phantom was a cool band and the 1991 s/t was very good. But follow-up Cyberchrist (1993) was also a damn fine album, speedier and heavier. Singer Eddie Falcon was indeed very powerful. I'm wondering if he ever sang in other bands besides Phantom.

Didin't know about the second album. Sounds good again. Yeah i wonder if he sang with any other bands cause the guy had a really powerful voice for sure and to think I never even heard of the guy until this morning!

Per metal-archives, it appears that Phantom was it for the singer. Not bad stuff.
