Wowo!:OMG:
I was searching for some Canadian metal to make a compilation, and came accross some unreal shit. The technical death bands from quebec are pretty well know (cryptopsy, kataklysm, martyr, gorguts) and devin townsend's stuff is available, but what else?
there's some good shit coming from Canada that needs some exposure, so here's some recommendations from my quick search...

prog metal from Regina
http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/43/into_eternity.html

metal core from Halifax
http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/367/flesh_made_to_suffer.html

death metal from Edmonton
http://www.pericardium.com/frameset.html

death grind from Calgary
http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/282/thorazine.html

death metal from Montreal
http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/301/neuraxis.html

brutal death from Toronto

grind black death from Vancouver

Check them out!

There are lots of great Canadian bands...

Solus - Technical death metal from Toronto (though Currently inactive pending the return of their singer from England)

Soulscar - Awesome Melodic thrash/death from B.C.

Martyr - Teched-out melodic awesomeness. One of the best Canadian bands I've ever heard.

Lapidate - Kick-ass gore/grind with a sense of humour. From Ajax Ontario.

Eclipse Eternal - Melodic Black metal from Toronto.

Archaeon - Extreme progressive blackened metal....(Shameless plug alert! hehe...). From Toronto

Wetwork - Unbelievable technical death metal ala Human-era Death, with female death vox. Hihgly recommended, especially if you ever get a chance to see them live. Oshawa, Ontario.

Well, you should know Kralizec. Along with Gorguts and Atheist, it's my favorite band.
Their guitarist is awesome, and he has some other projects which I never had the chance to listen to ( Foreshadow, dead, and Augury, a cd is going to be released sometimes ).
You should also know Lapse of Memory, Horfixion, Unquitessence ( an extreme black metal band, really aggressive ), Obscursis Romancia, and Winter Bestowed. Exept Winter Bestowed, those bands are not really technical but they're good.
If you want some information on bands from Quebec, just go there :
http://www.metalzine.com/
That's THE source on our the scene now.
Edit : here's a mp3 page for Winter Bestowed ( too bad they only have an EP, it's dead now ... ) http://search.mp3.com/bin/search?query=wb
And you should check Kralizec's website when it'll be done www.kralizec.ca

Everyone Check out These Bands!

Blinded By Faith
