Actually, I was thinking that way about the moshers who wouldn't even know the difference if the band just put a track on and left the stage for 30 min.

That statement I would agree with partially. I don't mosh for that very reason. But I also know that sometimes live music has an extra power and extra intensity to it compared to listening to the cd. It's all part of the feeling, the rush that you get from being at a concert. When you are at home listening to a cd you don't get the extra feeling that comes with live music and a mosh pit. It can be intense, real intense. So I guess I see a litle of both sides here. Everyone goes to concerts for different reasons, hell some people go just to get drunk.
