Some of your underproduced faves?

Okay, whoopdeefuckingdoo, is the name really that important? It's not like we can't afford to let black metal look more fucking silly, let it stand as whatever it is - there are *far* more important things to get worked up over.

MVST BE TRVE!!!!

That's fine, I'm just stating that they aren't black metal, why do people care?
I'm not the one getting worked up about it, Notuern is.

Haha, you call that worked up?
Well, I guess some people might not have a sense of humor.

Anyways, lets keep this thread on-topic, so we have more harshly sounding goodies to listen to!

Well I certainly wasn't worked up so he must have been referring toi you ;)

Anyway whatever.

Another fav is Smashing Pumpkins- Gish, the lack of compression is awesome for the drums- when Jimmy hits the snare harder to emphasize beats it's HUGE instead of the slight increase in volume now with modern production values.

It is entirely irrelevant whether or not a band is black metal when there are criteria like "enjoyable" to worry about.

Agree on Gish, but as much as I love the drums... the guitars are my favorite part.

Anyway whatever means I'm done discussing that...

Guitars are cool but my point was the lack of compression on it, guitars are already technically compressed to hell because of the distortion so it's irrelevant for compression.
As far as the tone goes it's not that good but the guitar playing is awesome- lots of nice fast licks.

Yes. In addition to being musically interesting, Gish doesn't have too many places where everyone stuck amp knobs up their asses while breakdancing.

Jeff

LOL! If I was Uli Roth, I'd have bitchslapped Hammett hard for calling me an influence after having heard his wah work.

Gish is a cool-sounding album. Haven't heard it in years, I might have to see if I still have it.
