Some Power Metal From Russia

Nuendo 3
Waves

приятно познакомиться )))

You what? :hypno:

I think the keywords what crossed my mind listening to this is thin and boxy. The bassguitar is really overpowering (almost dominating somewhat) and the guitars just sound weird to my ears. Very middy and boxy and they lack some definition. Drumsound is okay but still lacking some punch and it's really boxy sounding. And not to forget , Power metal drums need reverb ;)

I'm just trying to help out ey, not trying to be a dick or something.

sorry for russian, i'll try to fix it

so how can i make my guitar bigger, and not boxysounding? is this a question of reverb?

well, what is your source ? sounds like its a cheap digital outboard dist or something - really flat and lacking gain. try a Revalver 3 or Amplitube Metal )u can do a lot more wiz zem) yeah or when u really whanna know it , get an 6505 or some decent metal amp) and a sm57 for a start. and yeah , what pickups u have ? they do a lot )

It's indeed the source that is sounding bad i'm afraid. This won't help with reverb (you don't wanna do that to rhytmn guitars) I sincerely hope you tracked DI's too. Even with SoloC and good impulses (which is all freeware) you can get very, very good results. And the guitars and pups have a lot of influence to the sound as well, not to mention the guitar player

hm, you won't believe, but it's a live recorded guitar...It's Jackson Soloist through SMB Mustang dist into fender twin reverb, recorded by Rode Nt-2 preamped by Peratronika Pre-Amp...I guess Fender isn't a metal amp, ain't it? )))
Anyway we have no chance to get any other amp now, willl I get a better sound with Software amps? I've tried some, but they sound quite unnatural, maybe I'm doing something wrong?
I use an active DI, then I use Gate-TSS-Nick Crow 8505-Voxengo Boogex with Catharsis Impulses...
I never tried to quadtrack my guitars, only doubletracked them, maybe thats the reason? or what, I have no Idea...((((

I dont think the amp is a problem at all. I've used my POD with the fender twin plenty of times and get a killer tone from it.

If you get the perfect tone from the amp itself then its just a matter of capturing as best you can.

hmm , hard to say. probably we need to hear some samples of the guitar alone.
that SMB dist .. i'm not sure about this one. maybe you mic it up wrong ? mic position ? gain staging ? levels? post some samples of the softchain too. then we can say more.
ps: i got a killer tone from my fender rockpro1000 )

dude , the file is not playing and i cant download it.
do i have to sign up at esnips ?

now i got it. firefox was fucked up...
well. this tone. sounds really strange to me and no good.
as i said , really flat and digital, it has no bite, its just making pshh pshh dzz dzz. Throw away that SMB junk. U need a amp with good tube drive/dist build in. No digital outboard crap. There are few good things, but the SMB is not the one of them IMHO. Alternatively, I think you are way better with some amp sim and impulses then. Dude, there is a mp3 from you called 8505_test_song. the title says it all ) it sounds worlds better! why dont u use the 8505 ?:u-huh:
