Some stats about this years "guess the roster" contest

Um, exclusive? Volbeat is working through a second round of US Tour dates for this year.

Yea I forgot about that, but it would be exclusive for PP, but then again I guess not after the last time.
I guess a real exclusive would be either UNISONIC or PLACE VENDOME with KISKE

The 12 other exclusive slots intrigue me more than the headliners. As you siad Glenn the exclusive headliners will be few and far between, Bands like WITHIN TEMPTATION, VOLBEAT, AVANTASIA, STAR ONE, would be exclusive but three of them would destroy the budget totally unless someone pledged a shitload of money for them($25,000 or more i suspect). So keep up with the exclusive 12 other slots. They are the most fun for me.

Avantasia for me would be a dream come true, but the costs involved, as Glenn has discussed before on the forum, would be astronomical :(

I'm surprised as hell at one omission and would have been surprised if the other was listed.

Well this contest was always about what you expect Glenn to book and not what is "popular" or "wish" Glenn would book. My list would have been drastically different if the latter was the category.

For the record, I remain extremely optimistic about the 2012 lineup.

you can't compare seeing these bands in a club to seeing them at Center Stage.

Hell to the Yeah.

Center Stage is one of the reasons ProgPower is so special. I've seen Orphaned Land twice: once at PP and once at Masquerade - Hell. The guys gave their all in both performances, but Center Stage made all the difference.

And massive kudos to Glenn for actually putting together a 2 day SHOW. Not just a "festival" with random acts... Tarot and Delain in the same show, so Marko could lend vocals; Dream Evil and Therion so everyone can make fun of Snowy Shaw TWICE... You don't get that same vibe at just "another stop on a tour."

1. Two bands booked are not on that massive list John sent me. I'm surprised as hell at one omission and would have been surprised if the other was listed.

I am going to take a wild guess and say, TEN or Arena. Neither is power or progressive metal. But if I am not mistaken, "The Name of the Rose" is one of your favorite albums. TEN recently came back from a hiatus with a new album and are touring again. Plus they have broad appeal to the old geezers among us.

Arena is an even a longer shot, since I have not seen you comment about them. I know the band is finally talking about reforming and making another album with a new singer. But unlike TEN, they have yet to do so.

I approve of both of these ideas. And FWIW "The Robe" is the best Ten album :)
