I'm still trying to figure out with no success what this guy is doing arround 4:23, you'll see what I mean.

It's the same thing as the "Pacman" sound the Herman Lee does only with the pick.

No, it is only a single string. I honestly think he just randomly picks hard along the string creating random harmonics as he goes along them one after the other not really choosing them specifically

If you're talking about 4:25, just scratch the string with the side of a hard pick, 'jumping' with the pick over the string as you make a wave kind of motion, lifting/pressing with it as you slide towards the 12th fret (as if you were doing Morse code over the string with the pick).

Works over a wound string.

Very cool, but this guy doesn't exactly disguise his love of Scar Symmetry

Ahah! When I heard his album, just the first minute of the first track I thought exactly the same. My thought was, "man this is more scar symmetry than scar symmetry!lol" If SM was a instrumental band, would be like this, no doubt!

Anyway, you can hear some sybreed and fear factory influences, but not as much as the main influence. Besides that, the album it´s very good, very well written with a lot of melodies that stuck in the head.

As for the trick, I agree with everybody just said. Just some kind of pick noise.

Definitely the pacman sound on 2 or 3 unwound strings

That would be it, but that has nothing to do with the "pacman" from Herman Li since he explained clearly he does an arpeggio on all strings using his hand to block the strings.

But yeah that would be this trick, I don't think it has many name, basically he just musically does sounds with his pick on his strings !
