this is one of several tunes i've been working on for a while...i was planning on buying a 5150 and re-amping the tracks myself, but i got the heads up on a compilation that i might be able to get the track onto, so i need it done by the end of the week

the first links are the rythym tracks, 1 each for L/R...the 3rd is a simple lead part, 4th link is an mp3 with a rough mix so anyone who takes a crack at this can sort of get a feel for the whole sing

EDIT: forgot to add, .wav's are at 24/48, and the levels are pretty low...i like to keep things pretty conservative on the tracking end, especially with DI recording

links updated...and for the record, i'd be massively appreciative if anyone out there would be willing to even just reamp these through their preamp for use with impulses.

i've messed around a shit ton with wagner sharp/revalver/amplitube, and just can't find a tone i'm happy with, so hopefully some tube-powered gain will give the tracks some life if no one wants to bother mic'ing a cab and all that

and to he who PM'd me...i might take up your offer if i can't get anything else worked out

a)that clip makes me really realize how sloppy my playing is

b)UP THOSE BITCHES!

the tracks are really hi-gain and have that sort of signature krank fizz, but i'll see how i can get them to sit in the mix

I had a go for you also using the 6505. Your playing style on the DI's made it a little difficult to get a solid consistant tone for all parts of the song. The muted chord part at around 1:42 was recording extremely boomy so when setting up the amp and mic position I was testing this part (and trying not to get too boomy of a low end), but then the other lightly played parts sounded thin and weak. When I set up the amp and mic using the other parts, the muted part was way to boomy. What guitar/DI combo was used? I am not meaning to be critical here or bagging you by any means. Just letting you know what I found when trying the DI's out.

I can understand MetalJonesy's tone being a little fizzy as mine also was with the 6505 since to try and tame the boominess, my mic position was closer to the centre of the dustcap than usual.

mine was fizzy on that track as they were actually tones recorded at 44.1K and sped up to 48K ive now redone them as 48K, and they are alot smoother, but following guitar hacks comments, the last section really lost the full tone of the amp due to the softer playing, and ive found that with the krank it reallllllyy resonds to dynamic playing. theres also a click on the di tracks that you can hear on the R gtr track when u start the palm muting. I also moved my mic position a tad in from the edge, but not much, you can always HP!!!

Just uploading the wavs for ya!

Damn, sounds great Mark, really full - I WANT A REV JR. RRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH What cab did you use? As I recall, you have a 1960 w/ V30s?

And Kurtz, I dig the riffs dude - parallel 5ths rule!

hey dude, cheers man!!!! yeah im slowly gettin used to gettin tones and micing it up

yeah just slamming it thru my marshall 1960A with V30s and G1275ts in the X pattern, but using only the bottom right V30 for micing purposes thats fully raw that track, no HP or LP

oh man jonesy, this second round sounds awesome...

i've been sitting on the fence between getting a rev jr. or a 5150 combo, and this just pushed me back towards the rev...until i hear something else that really slays from a 5150, of course

and GH, the signal chain was:

ESP H-200 w/ stock p-ups, tuned to C#-->mackie onyx DI input

i had noticed the chugs were really boomy as well, but i would rather have a little boominess there to tame later on than sacrifice the tone throughout the rest of the song

ok, i got it working...i was wondering earlier if i had to sign up, but wasn't sure...as soon as i did, the download option popped up

:kickass: x1000, sir!!
