while playing pool after the converge show last night

is that Footloose by Kenny Loggins is SUSPICIOUSLY similar to the Duck Tales theme song.

also I met an illustrator/printmaker and suddently I want a full back tattoo of her work because it is CRAZY AWESOME. No I don't. I mean, I kind of do but not like REALLY.

Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg
Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes - it's a duck blur
You might solve a mystery or rewrite history

Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo

D-d-d-danger, watch behind you - there's a stranger out to find you
What to do? Just grab onto some Duck Tales, oo-oo!
Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!

When it seems they're headed for the final curtain
Bold deduction never fails, that's for certain
The worst of messes become successes!

Duck Tales, Oo-oo
Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo
Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!

Three things I learned from this thread:

Footloose if by Kenny Loggins

The Gummi Bears have a theme song (?!?)

Guys'll do silly things to impress female illustrators

i can't remember it either so i'm just singing the one line 'Duck Tales' to the tune of footloose over & over in my head.
all I could remember was "Ducktales, woooo-oooo!"

Nutbutter:
think about it:
Footloose - imagine some hollywood honcho saying, "now kenny, write a song about a high school that isn't allowed to dance, until Kevin Bacon comes to town!"

and then there's his song for that stallone arm wrestling movie, and the one about the pilots on the aircraft carrier. in all, a lucrative but stunningly vacuous body of work.

that's not surprising given that his first big break was writing "House on Pooh Corner"

I was reading something about him the other day...when he was with Jim Messina, the reviewer credited messina with reining in Loggins' sappier tendencies...

Loggins then went solo and as long as he stuck to his strengths he was successful, but then he made some kind of synthy record (Back to Avalon?), and then completely derailed himself with a record where he collaborated with his wife (not generally advisable anyway) on an album and companion book called something like The Unimaginable Life (?) filled with new age platitudes and goop.

I just checked AMG and check these song titles from Kenny's last (serious) record:

1 It's About Time
2 With This Ring
3 Alive 'N' Kickin'
4 I Miss Us
5 The One That Got Away
6 Brothers
7 This Is How My Song Goes
8 Doin' It Right
9 The Undeniable Groove
10 No Other Voice

all I can remember from Gummy Bears is

Gummy Bears...jumping here and there and everywhere

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blaaaah

We are the gummy bears.

okay this is from memory:

something something something
Out of the forest, they sing out in chorus
Marching along as their song fills the AIIIR!!

Gummi bears! Bouncing here and there and everywhere!
Fine adventures that's beyond compare (?)
They are the gummi bears!

Magic and mystery are part of their history
along with the secret of gummiberry juice
The magic is growing, they take pride in knowing
they fight for what's right in whatever they DOOOO!

Gummi BEARS! etc.
