Hey everyone, I always like reading people comments on here and try to add some input as well. This is a new record I'm working on. One of the local bands I've worked with once before. See what you think. The snare I had a little bit boosted around 5k but upon returning to the session after this bounce, I turned it back down. It was poking out a little too much I think. But yeah, enough rambling... Enjoy.

The song is called "Stylicious". We still have some gang vocals and clean singing to do as well.

Stylicious

the first 30 seconds of the song I thought I was listening to August Burns Red. I think the overheads could come down a bit, and maybe bring the vocals up a hair. Sounds pretty good to me! very natural sounding. I dig

Give that snare some 200hz man!

Guitars a mega honky too man, kill the mids a bit!
The vocals will sit loads nicer then.

Just curious what speakers you're listening on... To me at least, I think the snare has nice low mids. It's slate snare with a some top end added. As far guitars, I always liked a mid forward sound, but since you mention it, it may be a little over bearing. Thanks for chiming in.

Really shit ones that I know ridiculously fucking well
This entire mix sounds pretty thin man. Everything above 5khz sounds really overpowering.
Reminds me of some of my old mixes. I was being too brutal with thinning things out in an effort to reduce mud but it was affecting my mixes really adversely.
The snare sounds like you've high-passed any sort of chunk and thickness out of it and the kick has very little meat to it, it's all click.

The snare has a nice character to it, don't get me wrong, I agree. It's just that there isn't ENOUGH of the low mids. The whole mix seems generally focused around the high mids and it's really fucking piercing.

Agreed w/everything this man is saying!
