Somewhere back in Time thoughts

Saw them in Guadalajara on Thursday. I gotta say this is the best goddamn concert I have ever been to. Bruce sounded great, the stage, everything was pefect. Eddie was impressive!

True, the set list could have been a bit better, but hell I enjoyed every single song. I didn't look at the set list before the show, so I was literally going nuts when they played Moonchild :D

I have uploaded some pics from the show:

A bit out of focus but nevertheless great pics chica ;)

I envy your position, I won't have that view in here. That was perfect IMO.

I swear it was total luck. I was looking for a Maiden shirt some weeks ago since the only one I had was worned out long ago (now I take care a lot of my bands t-shirts). I ended purchasing a Black Sabbath one and stopped looking for Maiden due to lack of time. I was on this mall on my way to the cinema with some friends when I spotted a place selling posters and I saw the Rush (man & star) one, so I approached the store and a guy was folding the t-shirt at the precise moment, it was like an omen you know? So I pick it up asked the price and handled the plastic LOL. The fact that had something on the sleeve also draw me to purchase it.

Here's officially insane, people are already camping near the stadium to be the first in line to enter the venue. I will meet my friend Henry at noon in my house on Tuesday and from there we go to the venue, doors open at 16:00 and the concert starts at 20:00, will see how it comes out.

It seems fate smiles upon you... although you may get mugged for that shirt when you wear it.

On an un-related matter, does anyone have any Idea where my post went!? Wyverneven quoted it but it says that Priest of Evil posted it. It's a conspiracy, I tell you. I don't know what purpose it serves, but it's a conspiracy none-the-less

SORRY, SORRY, SORRY  I sent a PM to you it was all my fault. I was trying to quote your post and I hit the edit button and made a mess . When you're a mod the buttons are in different position from those I'm used to. My sincere apologies for all the mess I made, I couldn't undone it even hitting the return button to copy and paste the original message :erk:, please don't get mad at me.

On a related note, the organizers of the event suppoosedly under Iron Maiden management orders forbid ALL cameras (just when I bought a roll for mine) for the concert, so I'm not going to be able to have any memento of the friends or pics like Abryl posted

Also I got as a gift one of the t-shirts made here for the ocassion, but I'm going with my long sleeve on, besides I want to buy one of the tour in the merchandise section of the concert.

Well yea we weren't supposed to bring in cameras either, but I smuggled it in :saint: :heh: No flash, so in the dark it looked like we were taking pics with the cell phone, like a lot of people were. And yea we had a great view. This new theater (Auditorio Telmex) just opened in September, it is considered the best of its kind in Latin America :)

NO but ROTAM was unbelievable!!!!

Absolutely! :kickass:

Yeah I thought on doing the same, but I would have trouble enough smuglling my spikes and I don't have a small digital camera, nor I was ready to spend $200 on one juts for this ocassion.

I hope some of the guys bring a cell phone with camera so we can take pics of ourselves, those are the mementos I want, I don't give a rat ass about pics of the band there will be professional ones by the ton on the internet no need to have my own taken.

Haha. Don't worry about it man, shit happens.

I fucking envy all you guys in the front row. That would have been amazing.

As I'm here listening to Rondellus "Sabbatum" (I need a soft treat after yestreday sonic boom) I try to condense a zillion emotions derived from my first Iron Maiden concert ever.

The good: the sound IMO and despise what many people can say (to me and in the press) was impecable. It was so cool to see (when I could) Adrian Smith playing the solos and Bruce characterizations and speeches where perfet, the man is one of the best frontperson in metal. I barely noticed Janick was there :heh: Besides IMO he sounds NOW better than he did in "Live After Dead", absolutely great. The lights and changes on stage back were amazing too.
The people behave very good and they really get into the concert, at least Bruce looks satisfied according to his words. We also sing Happy Birthday to Adrian before the encore.
I also managed to sneak in my spikes and handcuff because they were forbid, they went into my underwear, so yeah my balls were cold .
My friend Henry and I were nuts the whole concert cling into each other like brothers in arms on a trench.

The bad: I basically couldn't see shit the entire show :erk:, most I could was on the screens (too small IMO). But since I pass the whole concert singing each and every song by heart, I close my eyes a lot :loco: The famous $70 VIP tickets were the worst for viewing but the best for sound I believe.
And Lauren Harris, OMG what a piece of crap for crying out loud (daddy shame on you). At least we didn't insult her that hard.

The ugly: the organization. They cash in the expensive tickets and treat us the worst, we entered the stadium nearly 2 h after most people were already seated in the $12-40 tickets zone. Were they had a great view I believe (maybe not becuase they look distant indeed), so much for VIP (very idiotic payers).
And people managed to sneak in cameras, If we only have knew we had better pics as mementos.
And on my way out I spotted my ex-gf that basically ruined my day (I can't stand that #%$!&*).

After the gig the "survivors" of the group went to a chinese restaurant to have something to eat and drink. I didn't had anything during the show to avoid travelling through the crowd to the w/c. Luckily was a cool clear night and I was pretty confortable in my leather jacket and long sleeve shirt.

The setlist was the same so far, no suprises and no flaws. For some reason I believe (I may be mistaken) people got more crazy with 'Fear Of The Dark' than with other songs, and yes 'Rime Of The Ancient Mariner' was astounding.

I ended pictured in a tabloid, I was near my friend Mario who is the best cinema critic in the country, so he was caught in fraganti and we came together. The pic is very bad (is a tabloid what do you expect), I tried to scan it better but I couldn't.

Cool Wyv !! Sorry you had a bad view, but still I have the impression you enjoyed the show !!:p

Thanks people, I did enjoyed the show. It seems that some in the setaed rows experienced a bad sound, so I may have lost the grandeur of the show but surely had a flawless sound.

I also catched something I guess since I have a mild cough and sore troath. Instead of spikes they shoud check attendance for health issues

Wyv, so glad you finally got to see Maiden in Costa Rica! :)

Our show in LA was fantastic! We were at the rails :D

Now preparing for May 30 and May 31!

BTW, can I have your autograph now that you are a celeb? ;)

This is my first time posting in this forum...so Hail to all of you!

Like my man Wyvern mentioned, the sound and show were impeccable. Being a huge fan of their classic period, this was the chance to catch them on tour that harkens back to the legendary World Slavery Tour. If you are able to see them, don't miss it, especially if you are old school!:headbang:

I'll be posting out pics soon, so stay tuned :)
