Sonata Arctica

are we forgetting that they've recorded a song titled Victoria's Secret? That's just plain awesome...

For those of you playing the home game this is called a Prince Albert. I'm sure that was his last wish. I'm sure he said, "Victoria I'm dying...I would like you to name a Museum, a music hall, and a bolt through the cock after me. That'll be Victoria's secret. Go and sell little thongs with that little anal floss."

.

They're my mates favourite band. Mind you, he loves all power metal :p

But especially these lot.

I'm totally undecided.

He'll play me one song, I'll love it, hate another one, love the next one, and then dislike the next one.

I give up tbh :p

I'm female.

My choice in music has no effect on you in the slightest, so I see no reason why you should spend time in creating a post that only points out the obvious fact that I am a Children of Bodom fan. If what I enjoy listening to bugs you so much though, I suggest you just ignore my existence and pretend as if I'm not here.

Well, this board will help you expand your tastes into other metal bands and I am sure Ohiogrinder could help you out a bit.

Yeah, expanding what bands I listen to is partly why I've joined.

So far I've been advised if I want to listen to some of the cheesiest metal around, I should check out Manowar. Other than that, it's been Ensiferum, Moonsorrow, Elvenking, Finntroll, Blind Guardian and Edguy that I've been told to get into.

I love Ensiferum and Finntroll - the kind of music where you want to swig tankards of ale and dance :)

Well, I haven't actually managed to get around to checking out any Manowar material so I can't offer any form of opinion on their 'cheesiness' but I agree Dragonforce is some pretty cheesy shit right there.

Admittedly, there are one or two songs where I dig the guitar parts but still...

King Arthur, if I'm not mistaken? Good movie.

Back on topic now though...am I the only one who didn't really like Unia? There were only three songs on it that I liked: Caleb, Paid in Full and In Black and White.

I didn't like Unia at all.

You have been grossly mis-informed of their greatness.

I don't think it's fair to claim the cheesiness of other bands and still maintain that Manowar aren't cheesy. Cheesy doesn't mean bad. I think Manowar are great, but no one can deny the fact that they're fucking ridiculous sometimes, and their lyrics are some of the cheesiest lyrics ever written. Take your swings.

There wasnt 1 good song on that album and it was worse live.
