I wasn't ahead of the curve on that one; there used to be a website called big-boards.com (or something like that) that ranked forums by size/activity, and GoGaia was already #1 on the entire internet by the time I joined, so naturally I had to as well. I used to have a complex about join dates, like I always felt that I wouldn't be taken seriously if I had a late join date and that I would always be a n00b relative to certain oldfags, so I used to register on a lot of websites even if I had little immediate intention of posting. With GoGaia I did have some interest in anime but I was starting to distance myself from it around that time, so a long-term relationship with that website was never to be.
