Recorded this like 7 months ago. Still waiting on vocals. :Smug:

I've always struggled with bass and I think it's why some of my mixes lack body and don't have the fullness of professional mixes.

Do I make it too clear? Too much subs effecting the mix? etc. Dont mix on headphones?

Are they any general info I need to consider with bass or just Trial and Error and use my ears? (also have someone who can play bass properly. ie: not me)

Have you tried splitting your bass track into different frequency ranges and processing them individually? There was a good thread on this not too long ago. http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/production-tips/383714-bass-mixing-tip-discovery.html

By the way, those guitars are sounding awesome.

^ yeah that's what I'm doing. I've heard some really great bass stuff and they all do that technique.
