that was going to be my sugestion as well. iced earth is good for building right hand speed. not good for much else...

You fool. You should learn how to play guitar before you try to harness feedback as an instrument.

I recommend developing and maturing creativity as opposed to playing songs. Make up your own shit, don't define your skill by someone elses playing, it severly cripples your learning speed.

just curious why you say this? Metallica riffs are an EXCELLENT place to start, they teach you to be very tight. what are your goals?

try to learn by ear rather than using tabs right away.

trying to do stuff by ear is the way to go. the fucker who got me started on guitar told me to "download guitar tabs and learn from them" and I think that probably set me back a little bit.
