Hi andy

first i've have to say that it is a good thing that you with non professional musician an i thank you for that you're a great guy.

Being a huge Arch Enemy fan especially their latest album i notice the subtlle but still amazing sonic improvements since the early albums.
So my question is very simple what recording process do you use.

Do you record the guitars through the amps or do you use emulations on protools for example, and then could you tell me what effects are used especially for the soloing which always kicks my ass :hotjump: .

But i don't want any secrets or settings from AE because even though their sound is with the sound from the black album the best ever. I want to make my own sound.

and if you have tips i am using a single rectifier which is boosted by the effects and a graphic equalizer an then cut with a gate all in the loop.

i hope i don't ask too much from you don't kill yourself answering to me
but thanks anyway.

He only uses Zoom 505 and 506 emulations because he believes that amps belong in the 1970s. If you do a search for 505 and 506 you will find a lot of information. But unfortunately the search function is not working properly right now, but keep searching and you will find all his tips.

He won't be able to give you any rectifier tips because as I said, he only uses Zoom 505 and 506. He tried Amp Farm in Pro Tools once and even tried the Pod Xt, but he proved to us that they both sound fake in comparison to the Zoom 505 and Zoom 506.

Hope this helps.
