Is there any cheep soundproofing material to buy? And if so where do you get it? Or is there a way I can make it from cardboard cause I remember in hustle in flow the people were putting egg boxes on the wall but if there is some material with a soundproofing property let me know.

Sound proofing or sound dampening. To "soundproof" youd need an airtight room and you would have to insulate very heavily on the walls of the room. try egg crate material.. its ugly as hell but it works. Are you just looking to reduce feedback if your in a small room?

it totally depends on what you're trying to do...

if you want to keep sound from getting in/out of an area, you'll need it airtight, as said previously. aside from that, you'd have to do so construction work to keep vibrations from passing through walls

if you're trying to acoustically treat a room, get some rigid fiberglass panels, cover them with some fabric, and hang them on the walls. they work even better if you make some sort of frame for the panels.

I've had to experiment around a bit because I have nasty neighbors on the other side of my wall who don't like cooool sounds, and here's what I found works,

one and a half inces of plywood, no kidding, it just about kills all sound, and if you can't nail it up, just buy it by half inch sheets and place it against a wall, then place something in front of it to hold it up...this really works well.

Another option is one inch plywood with one or two thick blankets tacked onto one side - its all about blocking and absorbing sound.
