Hi everyone, last week end I did my first "real" drums recordings (I tried a few things in the past and did a little bit of FOH for college) and I thought I might ask for your impressions on the mix that I came up with afterwards!
Drums are natural except for the kick and the middle tom (it was pushed out of the tom during the session and I didn't notice it being in the same room as the drummer.
We recorded in an art galery that was about 80m², and not square at all, nor was the ceiling which was maybe 7-8m heigh in the center of the room and 5-6 on the sides, so pretty cool room... Apart fromthe fact it was not treated at all, and all made of concrete and stone, so verby as fuck and we couldn't bring anything to treat it,and the drummer set up his drumkit before I was there, if I had been there I would definitely have set up the kit further away from a wall...
Anyway,I think the end result sounds pretty cool, let me know what you think about it!

Vocals are to be recorded next week, so there are no vocals here.

That's a pretty cool recording, and totally fits the genre.
Love the fat snare and the big open room sound.

C'est enregistré à Toulouse ?

Sounds good, I'd compress the snare a little bit, but it's ok.

Je parle en français pour faire comme tout le monde :D

Well it's the first draft I made just as a pre prod for vocals, so processing is pretty light yeah!

Baguette du coup ah ah
