SSD 3.0 or Superior Foundry?

Cool man, but dont you think the music is more important than the sounds used , the avg listener gets off on the music, not the individual sounds used.

I'm not sure that does it for me..

nah I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

I too, am one of those who need to be satisfied with the mix AND the song. I don't like the thought of having the same or a very similar drum sound as someone else. In fact, I hate presets altogether. If I use a synth, I try to learn it and make my own sounds... I'm just an asshole :D

Thats great, i too love programming synth sounds, but its a by product of the song - you want cool sounds for the "Song"

I used to spend hours and hours mixing , tweaking , expirimenting and that approach gets some great results, but I much prefer to have great sounds to start with.
I dont concern myself with whether or not someone else has used the same SLATE snare or not - because i want my listeners to get off on the Riffs etc not the fact theres +4 dB at 5K on a floor tom.

P.S - to the original poster >> give Slate a go and I'll bet you'll smile ear to ear when you hear that room sound!!
