ssl duende

In my last thread I asked for your opinion on the UAD neve channel strip and the waves ssl, because I´m looking for a high class channelstrip for my setup.

Now I got a tip for buying the SSL duende mini (with the origninal SSL channel strip from the digital mixer)
it only costs 500€ and is a DSP firewire 400 interface.

Do you guys have any experience with this tool?

I´m using a Mackie onyx 1640 with firewire to record. I´m afraid of having problems using the duende mini (firewire 400) and the mackie together...

And what about the 16 track limitation in the duende mini. I heard that duende now uses DSP and CPU power for more tracks.
So I dont have to update the duende mini box to 32 tracks to use them in my mix?
