SSSSSLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRR!

This reminds me of when i saw them at Metaltown(Crappy Swedish festival.) and this huge fucking biker stood in front of me just screaming "SLAAAAAAYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!!", and everytime a mosh started in front of us, he'd kick the shit out of anyone even coming close to him! :D
 
Slayer concerts are the only situations, where I become brutal and nasty. But nearly all there are in the same mood :) But you really have to watch out, when you are there with a girl. I was permanently pushing and kicking off the crazy violent freaks!! Aaaaargh
 
I am sorry but this is one completely overhyped band that additionally makes me sad and angry at the same time.
Not only because of the band forcing me to watch fucking NAZI and/or war propaganda videos when playing live but also because of their overall arrogant attitude. Just because they are some thrash veterans doesn't automatically make 'em invincible or anything special.

A lot of fans of them (of course not all but it is the loudest that make it obvious) usually overreact because it seems cool and trendy to support that single band.

Let me tell you it is fucking annoying and destroys a lot of joy I would love to have listening to their music. This pathetic mob attitude that spreads faster than any plague is just out of control with this band. Yes, they are a decent thrash band but any other good "hallmark band" deserves the same amount of respect yet they go away empty-handed most of the time. The worst though... is those guys yelling SLAYER at a concert from an entirely different band! It just makes it seem like any other band would be inferior to them just because and is completely inappropriate.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the persons who want to share their enthusiasm with others, I know this is part of the whole "scene" or whatever you want to call it but it is so fucking ridiculous how out of hand this is getting. Especially in Germany! Fucking morons at Wacken yelling Slayer 24hrs isn't funny anymore. I (and believe me, I'm not the only one) start to feel offended by it and start to avoid places where I know it is the same scenario all the time.

There you have it. For every 10 Slayer-shouters I'm gonna rant a bit to keep things a bit more balanced :D

I should furthermore add that I can only speak for European coutries of course. Whereas I only found these fanatics in Germany, very very few of them outside of Germany so these don't really make my argument anything weighted.

I have this odd and very strange feeling that I might get my ass raped for posting this on a metal board :lol:

Now seriously..I´m not a friend of this whole Slayer typical NS symbolic shit. I think, it´s childish.

I grew up with Slayer, especially with "Seasons in the abbyss". I cannot deny my love to this band. I really dig the music. I know, there exists some fanatics, but each band has their fanatics.

Supporting one band is one thing but being elitist about it and ruining the concert/festival experience of others makes me sad. It is not that is just a few shouts here and there, I'm not a pussy. But they are fucking EVERYWHERE! This is similar to babies screaming all the time, you know? Same feeling that makes you cringe each and every time :D

Lucky you! I guess this must be a local phenomena then. I've had this with Opeth (with Mike actually noticing, being pissed and addressing it to the crowd haha), Children Of Bodom and some others I can't remember right now, quite often actually. Most of all at festivals with no Slayer in the billing whatsoever.
 
Being elitist is just stupid, absolutely agreed with you, dude. And I know, what you mean. This Slayer shouts are everywhere..on each fucking concert in Germany.

But I always saw this just as fun. No negative associations with that so far. It´s fucked up..just metal! Drinking beer, shouting slayer..haha.

I don´t know, how penetrant or annoying it was on concerts, where you has been. Maybe it´s annoying for not - slayer fans, no question.

It´s fucking Metal!!!

And I am not supporting that, I just enjoy the music and the energy it gives me.

I'm not a huge fan, but like I said, its just redbull music :lol: and I like it

Ahhh the day of the Slayer concert, where they hand out day passes at all the local mental institutions/prisons and encourage the inmates to partake in the glorious event of drinking beers well into the double digits and terrorizing the innocent bystanders just trying to stay alive.
 
i've done the "slayer" shout before...but usually only during some crappy local band

IIRC, after doing such, this one band kicked into reign in blood for a minute...that shit was pretty funny

but yea, the slayer yells are in jest...nothing more...and to be used sparingly
