SSSSSLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRR!

Sorry, but i hate Slayer.... because it's punk.... and that explain things like fans behavior.

Yup, kinda have to agree - it's a bit better than punk IMO cuz there's more talent involved in the musicianship, but not much more as far as the songwriting (this is really my feeling on most old-school thrash, the exceptions being bands like Testament and of course Megadeth/Metallica - but like Dark Angel's "Darkness Descends," bleeccchhhh :ill: ). Still, I'd be lying if I said there weren't quite a few Slayer songs I really dig (but then there are just as many that are total throwaways to me)

The only thing I really don´t like about Slayer are the unbelievable ridiculous Guitarsolos on most of their albums. But I really fuckin´dig the Riffs. Slayer´s Albums are full of absolutley great riffing imo. I really love the atmosphere of songs like "spill the blood", seasons in the abbyss or "dead skin mask".

For me this is musically arts on a high quality level! I have to take protective for Slayer, when we talk about music! Seriously.

and remember this: there's no band after 1985 that isn't influenced by slayer in a way. all those stuff wouldn't exist without slayer.

Thanks man :kickass: It´s good, i´m not alone.

@Hoehlentroll

Ich könnte kotzen, wenn 18jährige Hosenscheißer Slayer bashen, obwohl ihre Lieblingsbands ohne Slayer garnicht existieren würden.

Aba wat soll ma machn...drauf geschissen!

The Slayer fans were boo'ing at Pantera and doing that SLAAAYYYEEERRRRRR scream through the whole set.

Pantera > Slayer. xInfinity

Extremely disrespectful and honestly I'd take Pantera over Slayer any god damn day. Fuck Slayer, weak ass shit. Borderline pathetic to me.

I'd consider myself a very reasonable Slayer nutcase. There's still no other band I have seen more often (except for Motörhead maybe) and there is definitely no band out there that I have travelled further for.

musickey: Nope. I could care less about how many of the bands I listen to and enjoy are "influenced by Slayer." Their music doesn't sound like Slayer in the least bit. Which is why it doesn't suck like Slayer.

:lol: Trust me i can understand your dislike. First i would have to ask how old your are becouse im gettin old, and when i was a teenager there just wasnt to much shit out there more pissed off than Slayer. Reign in Blood, Seasons in the Abyss. I spent an entire summer taking bong tokes and blasting Devine Intervention on my buddies parents Bose surround sound system...at that day and age it truly was devine. :lol:

@006

I respect that, man. Each to his own. But when we talk about the music...I cannot believe that there is so much disrespect although Slayers meaning in the Metal scene. For me as a Thrash Metal fan, Slayer is important. I grew up with this and love the albums of the 80´s and especially Seasons in the abbyss. Maybe it´s also a conflict of ages..I´m not sure.

Yeah, if someone doesn't like Slayer I'm good with that too... It's just that, I really don't get it. Like my brain is absolutely unable to make some rational stringent sense of a "metal head" not liking records like RIB, SOH, SITA or Divine... it's an unhandled exception... Tilt! Buzz! Ka-boom! BSOD!

It's an even bigger mystery than women to me... but, it's okay. ;)

Amen :kickass:

I don't hate Slayer per se, my reaction just tends to gravitate to the opposite extreme of those who can never SHUT THE HELL UP ABOUT THEM. Like I said, they have a lot of sweet riffs and songs, but a lot that are just total throwaway IMO. Like I said, not a big thrash fan here. And please, the argument about "well how can you not like so and so, they influenced everyone else" is crap - even if I found out Per Nilsson's biggest influence was old Green Day, it wouldn't make me loathe it any less!

musickey: I'm 23. But IMO age has nothing to do with it at all. If they were any good, they would be timeless - much like most of the bands I listen to.

I've just never cared for their music. I'll listen to old Death, classic 'tallica, Exodus (kinda bleh on that one) and others but Slayer has always been, to me, a pathetic band. Like they are trying way too hard and the music is all subpar to many other great bands of the era and style. Then in recent years their "image" that they try to convey to people. Kerry King is a fucking idiot. Period. Just look at him. If judging by looks alone I would not go "damn he's metal" I would just say "wow...he's a real winner." I'm not impressed in the least bit. I'd rather listen to NSync before I hear one shred of Slayer. No pun intended there.

It's simple, I don't like them. You may not like one of the bands I listen to, such is the way the entire world is. I don't see them as some iconic band from the boom of 80's thrash metal at all, they are actually extremely insignificant in my eyes and I don't see things being any different if they never would have existed. Except, maybe there would be a few less bands, the ones quoting Slayer as influence, that suck.
