Stam1na!

 Well as a guitarist you'd love bands like Symphony X and Sonata Arctica. I know what you're saying, and like I said, when I was younger, I hated power metal vocals, I couldn't get into it at all, but when you get older your tastes change.

yeah probably but then again i mite like it my hole life and also like some new things

Fuck off.

It depends on just how bad the vocals are. Imo these vocals are totally shit and completely ruin it for me (also the music is generic and mediocre). Whereas, for example with Dream Theater, I really don't like James LaBrie's voice, however the singing is still technically proficient and therefore I can listen to Dream Theater and still appreciate it.

Yeah agreed with you here.

@Shredtastical : IMO it's just because words are a thing that most people can relate to. I mean.....notes are a totally different thing and not everybody can appreciate what's being played. If you don't have a good ear, for example, I think you'll tend to lisen to the vocals since every human being can understand that and know what's going on. That's my humble opinion, maybe not expressed as I wanted to cuz of my english lol.

If you're going to Wacken, I recommend to go to see them whether you like them or not. I think they sound lame on the CDs but they're one of the most intense live bands I've witnessed, the singer's actually screaming instead of the wimpy vocals on the albums.
