Started with basswood, then alder, now I want to try Mahogany.. and recs?

My first guitar was a basswood OSP, then an alder Jackson, now I want to save for a Mahogany bodied guitar for around 400$

I really dont mind the style of it, strat/other whatever




Any recs.? (That have no Floyd)

for 400? start looking on ebay, cuz youre gonna have a hard time finding one. ibanez does make a good one though for close to 400

actually, now that i look at it, there are alot of mahogany bodied ibanez's for around 400. just look through this link

Thanks, I dont know much about Ibanez's. Are they used in Death/Thrash metal very much?

btw, I could go around 500$ too

yes. ive seen alot of DM guys play ibanez. i play DM and i own 2 actually. they arent as dirty as a bc rich. but the clarity helps when playing really tech riffs. so a uber clean signal going into a dirty amp is great from DM and other styles of metal.

right on. the one i linked is one similar to my solid body ibanez. ive got a quilted top though. those stock single coils are great. but unless youre doing alot of clean parts, or jazz/blues stuff, you dont really need it.

I really don't play clean at all, do you mean I shouldn't get the guitar or the coils?

if you dont play clean, dont worry about single coils. just get the humbuckers
