Steven Slate Drums...Anyone recommend?

I have to jump in to this thread for a brief second. I usually keep my mouth shut around here, but I wanted to say that I think a lot of people on this board need to relax. To insinuate that this dude has boatloads of pirated software based on what he's said so far is just retarded. Why is it so out of the realm that someone owns so much gear, and still has questions about what things to buy, recording techniques, etc? Give the dude a break man. I think this is one of the reasons why this board has gotten really shitty lately. Everyone is ALWAYS jumping down the throats of the noobs or the guys who have questions, and it seems like there are 5 or 6 guys on this board who monopolize every thread to the point where no one is learning anything anymore.

I myself own TONS of gear, TONS of software that is all legally purchased, and since I spend maybe 2 or 3 hours a week on this hobby (due to my day job, kids, wife, etc), my skills obviously aren't up the same level as some of the guys who do this shit day in and day out as a full time job. And to be honest, I'm totally cool with that - it's something that I do in my spare time to keep me sane. But for people here to assume that everyone on this board is a 14 year old kid working at a gas station who can't afford nice gear, or legal software is completely ignorant.

The dude asked a question, and no matter how ridiculous it might seem that someone on the Sneap forum isn’t familiar with SSD, I don't think there is any reason to call the guy a thief.

WTF....

And to the OP - I (just like you) own a boatload of drum samples and plugins (battery, S2, EZD, etc), and I would jump all over any deal for Slate's kit. They're amazing...just do it.

Thats cause all of these questions have been answered a billion and one times. NOBODY learns anything cause you are all too lazt to search for the answers you are looking for. A simple GOOGLE search turns up 10+ Pages of conversations just on THIS forum about Slate Drums.

If you are seriously that lazy to not be able to do simple searches then you definitely do not have the patience to be a producer.

I searched through the forum search utility.......not google...and didn't find what I was looking for in about 15 mins...so I posted.

No I dont, you have issues think ing you have time to be a musician when you have a family, and work 50 hrs a week. Then on top of that you try and spend time learning how to use all this software you have purchased.

Do yourself a favor, practice more instead of coming to a forum wondering why your recordings dont sound pro. Once you clean up your playing and you realize throwing money at the problem isnt the solution then you will realize I am really not being a dick or unreasonable.

You should get TRIGGER man, if you are recording real drums but the acoustic sounds aren't all that great TRIGGER will help you tons. It's well worth the cost. Just use the overhead mic tracks and replace the drums with Slate. Not everyone will agree with the method but shit... most everything these days is replaced to fuck anyway, can't beat 'em then join 'em.

I was looking more into this last night.....I have a TD-3 too, so I'm kinda on the fence. My drummer does like playing his acoustic kit better though.

I did do some searching now.....and he's helped me out in the past....I don't get it maybe your right. I guess we all play metal for a reason, which does mean we have a right to be angry....so I'm willing to bet an off day

Johnny, the guy has been on the site for almost a year. You cant tell me that he didnt see any of the other 50000 Slate Drum threads on the forum.

Seriously this thread was completely uncalled for. Google turns up 10+ pages of results, If he scrolls down the forum about 15 or 20 posts there is a thread about Slate.

THIS is why I reacted so harshly. Ya i am being a dick, but I am really fucking tired of these guys asking the same fucking questions. He just asked for the C4 shit 2 days ago ... come on with the BS already .....

....and I got the C4 settings really quickly....fits into my busy life perfectly, thank you...and I registered almost a year ago, and look at my post number.... because I'm busy...I did some research on Slate....have read some threads....but seriously man, some are yes, some are no....internet reviews etc....so I started a fresh thread to get general opinions for ME.....there is nothing uncalled for about that....look, you can be helpful, and you can be a dick, you know that.....so why don't we both just shake hands.....agree that metal fucking rules and get on with it.....?

But in any case, if you have so much money to throw around, why not getting SD first, then ask questions later, like you are saying you do?

By ranting about it you are not going to convince anyone. Be respectful of senior members before demanding respect yourself, and use the Sneap search, instead of wasting other people's time.

How can someone "hint" that they have pirated software? Can you explain this to me? He even started the thread asking if he should BUY SSD. I know many software pirates and none of them would ever dream about spending a nickel on software.
